Rangparv 2022 - Monsoon Theatre Festival by Somaiya Centre for Performing Arts

Somaiya Centre for Performing Arts in collaboration with संस्कृतसभा   successfully conducted the first Monsoon Theatre Festival of the campus - रंगपर्व 2022. The theme of the year was संस्कृतनाट्यरंग.

Three Sanskrit plays were featured at the festival. The festival started with देवादपि गरीयसी , a modern Sanskrit play based on the life of Adi Shankaracharya, penned by renowned Sanskrit Dramatist Pt. Prabhakar Bhatkande and performed by Maharashtra Seva Sangh, Mulund

The team of KJ Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce performed the play  सा विद्या या विमुक्तये, written by Bhagyashree Deshpande and Neha Adak, Directed by Meera Paranjape.

The festival concluded with कर्णभारम, a classical Sanskrit play representing the rich tradition of ‘Classical Indian Theatre’ presented by the students of Academy Theatre Arts, University of Mumbai.
