riidl Somaiya Vidyavihar hosts 8th Edition of ‘Maker Mela’

~ In honour of National Startup Day, which is aligned with the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi's initiative of Startup India ~
 

Mumbai, January 16, 2023: riidl Somaiya Vidyavihar (Research Innovation Incubation Design Laboratory Foundation) is all set to host the 8th Edition of ‘Maker Mela’, which is Asia's Largest Platform for Makers and a premier event for grassroot innovators around the world who are looking for a platform to showcase their projects to a larger and more diverse crowd. 
 

The Hon’ble Prime Minister has announced 16th of January, the foundation day of Startup India, as the National Startup Day, and riidl Somaiya Vidyavihar has been selected as one of the centres for the occasion. Aligned to this initiative, the 8th edition of Maker Mela is set to be held from 16th-18th January at Somaiya Vidyavihar, Mumbai.

Maker Mela facilitates more than 100 participating Makers, to take their ideas to the market. It is the celebration of the Maker Movement and Do-It-Yourself mindset across Arts, Crafts, Engineering, AR/VR, Science and Technology. 200+ startups, 50+ investors, 20+ dignitaries, and 20+ incubators will be present at Somaiya Vidyavihar, Mumbai, to celebrate the occasion.

Amongst a plethora of events like a Demo Day for startups, a Maker Expo for makers and various events for influencers, a panel discussion by PhysicsWallah, Amazon Mini TV Series on “Maker Culture & its potential for STEM education” will also be conducted.

MsMaya Vishwakarma, also known as the ‘The Padwoman of India’, would be gracing the 8th edition of Maker Mela as the Keynote Speaker to inspire all the innovators and overwhelming audience and lead them through her journey of being the founder of Sukarma Foundation, an organisation that has positively impacted the lives of millions of women across the rural parts of India.
